THE ARTS THEATRE CLUB - SOHO

The first project I did for The Arts was this surround for the dj booth. The clients requested it to be in the style of a Georgian window. It was tailored for a bespoke fit. The construction was quick and simple. Made out of a 2x2 softwood frame, beading was added to take perspex. Glazing beads were then stuck on the front to give the illusion of a Georgian window. A wooden cornice topped it off and it was finished in a dark stain to fit with the rest of the decor.

The second project for these clients was to replace an old makeshift bar and case for a speaker. A simple frame was made which was cladded in removable MDF panels to give access to the speaker for servicing and repairs. The panels had moulding pinned on the front to match the wall paneling and on the front panel, brass gauze was set in to allow the sound out. A small trap door was added to the side so staff could turn the speaker on and off without taking the panels off.

This job for The Arts was to build a lectern. Keeping their look in mind, this is what I made. Constructed from softwood and stained to match its surroundings the lectern was accompanied by a picture lamp to cast light for guests to sign in.
